I apologize for not putting this one up on the early morning post as I had to get to bed because of going to the Dr. in the AM (ahh physicals, aren't they fun. Turn your head and cough young man!). As most of you know UO is home to the Community Bonus Pack Team. They are working on not only maps for UT2004 but other cool things such as models, weapons and such. Nathillien has released some public screenies of his upcoming Onslaught map, Ansedancy. Here is a sample.
It looks pretty slick. I also can't wait to show you one of the coolest user created models I have seen in long time. Hopefully he will make an appearance pretty soon!
-Update- Another map is being showcased today. Plutonic has released some screenies of his Onslaught map, Icarus. Here is a peek.
Remember maps are only going to get better and better.  |

Oh GOD! why are they doing this to me!!
My friend said he just got his copy in the mail at work (Happy birthday!) I had pre-ordered the DVD:SE for him and had it shipped to his work, but I put second day on it so that I could get my copy first. Now I have to wait until tomorrow.
PLUS they are releasing all of these screenshots and they are driving me crazy!!

As soon as I get the game (oh, and I have to find a DVD player, maybe will steal the drive out of the player in our bedroom and stick it in the computer) and play a few games, I'm going to try and build a level or two.
Looks like a lot of work though. I have a few ideas, but not sure if they willl be good enough to make a good map out of.
Already have one idea involving a catwalk and a trash compator with a start button on the outside where someone can push it. (SPLAT)

your telling me your buysing DVD version, but you got no DVD player in your PC? DOH!
nice idea, i like levels with that stuff, i think its complicated, and needs scripts/coding to. but what do i know..
in ut1 you had a map wher eyou could open the floow, so all would fall in |

 I gotta have those extras!! This way I can buy a DVD player too and it won't look so bad to my wife cause I gotta have one.
Actually she thinks I'm stupid for buying a DVD game with no DVD player just like eveyone else. Why did I have to marry a smart one?!
Still, I'll work around it. I know a friend with a DVD ROM and no UT2004 DVD:SE to put in it. Maybe he will loan me one until I get my own drive.
God I can't wait to start playing all those cool maps again. Looks like there are going to be tons of User maps as well. let's hope this trend continues. |
