So after two weeks of voting I found out what I had envisioned is happening. Onslaught is not only saving the Unreal Community but helping it expand at a pretty fast rate. The new poll has to do with your overall thoughts on the game. I have only had it for one day and I am pretty damn happy. What are your thoughts so far?

i have it now since three days and i`m glad that i bought it. i prefer assault but the crap is, that you sometimes come on a server with noobs which don`t want to hear that they are noobs.

Iīm having some laggy control issues that really puts the show down !
I have about 60 fps average but sometimes (quite often) I get some problems moving the crosshair (not just the crosshair but the whole character movement) for about a sec or less but when I canīt control the character as I want ... man talk about a showstopper Sad
Iīve tried getting new drivers, new mouse, lowering settings (shouldnīt need to since I have at about 60 fps) and all kinds of stuff but Iīve found out that Iīm not the only one having this problem so itīs gotto be a big bad bug Evil or Very Mad !
Seams to be really awesome if it wornīt for the showstopper !

I t has taken me three days to get my system where I want it in respect to balancing setings and seting up all the options Smile disabaling "preload all player skins" drops my load times to 1/3 of what they where!

first things first:
loading take muhc longer then in demo.. even torlan takes longer.. dunno if that becouse of skin prelaoding.. what if you turn it off? i got 1024 memory, so i should be able to use preloading.

second things second:
in some ways iv been let down by the full game.. i dunno what it is.. i havnt realy played online in a good way yet. with friends or whatever., couse they dont got it. and all people i know from Uops dont play when i play, or i dont have in budy list. also i hate it that when i add a budy, alot of people have that name and i never know if its the right one..

fourth tings thirth:
the whole SP is not.. what id liked it to be.. iv set it to expirianced.. and sometiems its so easy. but im having some trouble with some maps.. its proabbly me.. i suck at some game types. and my team is so bad.. but i cant buy any new ones yet.. and i wanna play the whole ladder so i unlock the last few characters and tutorial movies!

im a bit disapointed to about assault and onslaught. the maps are cool.. but it ghets boring to.. maybe thats becose of point one. see above.
good thing people make maps etc. so soon well have more maps.

Oh well.
Just got it yesterday.
I've been having a ball. Playing Deathmatch as more than anything else, with a bit of Onslaught.
No dissapointments. Getting that buzz that I hadn't got for a while.

Deck17 was rather nostalgic.

Meh, just you wait till you play Hyperblast 2- particularly if it's the ladder final. I never thought I could find a map more annoying than Geothermal, but HB2 does actually manage it. I pride myself on not needing brightskins, but even for me, the players (Malcolm particularly) are absolutely invisible until they start shooting. Your only chance of beating Malcolm is to lure him out into space where you can see him properly.

Other than that, it's all pretty amazing. Mothership's a nice gimmick but I really wish servers wouldn't have it on their rotation so often- it's pretty dull until you board the ship. Also the servers need to extend the round time on AS-RobotFactory: a lot of teams can't complete it in 10 or even 12 minutes. Any other quibbles I can think of? Well, the not-being-able-unlock-hidden-characters bug ranks pretty damn high. Sometimes the game freezes up while loading a multiplayer map (perhaps when the Connection Reset error is meant to come up?). Only having a very small choice of portraits for the single-player ladder profile creation.

Again, other than that, it's all pretty amazing Razz. Just had a hilarious game in Glacier, fun times in Absolute Zero, and there's more decent DM maps than I can think of. Onslaught is still something of a downer for me, but at least the Leviathan is as fun as it sounds- both to use and destroy. Methinks the lightning gun needs beefing slightly though: perhaps make it EMP like certain weapons in XMP (does added damage to mechanicals, ie. vehicles and turrets). The dual assault rifles have taken pride of place as my favourite weapon alongside the shieldgun, but primary fire could do with an alteration to make it a viable option even to someone with the minigun. Perhaps it could have accuracy somewhere between mini primary and secondary fire, or a very very slight damage increase (+1 per hit maybe).

Other than that... it's all... pretty amazing! And I mean it this time. It's rare for a fan of anything to get something to be proud of: by the time something's become leet enough to gain fans, it's lost its spark and subsequent sequels disappoint (I point you in the direction of Alien Resurrection, Star Wars 1&2, Jurassic Park 2&3, Aliens vs Predator 2 and some might say the previous generation of Unreal games [UT03 & U2]). Unreal fans have been given a huge treat in that we've got something new to show off about.

preloading player skins is a waste even if you do have enough memory.

Do you know how many skins are in this game?!
You will never see them all in a match... never.

Somewhat pointless because only a rather poor computer will hiccup when someone with a new playerskin enters a server, but you need a lot of ram to enable the preload playerskins in the first place. Hence making your system not a bad one. Paradox! Very Happy

huh? do i need to turn it on or off? now you got me all confuzed Laughing

yeah, i do agree with like everything you sayed. i want more characters, and to be able to unlock em all. mothership is less fun as it looked. and where did that low grav switch go? they sayed they had a switch in the map to make it go on low gravity. never seen it...
im having trouble at robotfactory in SP. and 10 min is to short yes.
i would like the LG to do like electric damage to turets etc. and cars. like temporarly shutting down the engine, and it will restart after like 5 secs.
the duals AR's should be better yeah, hard to get 2 of em, and when you do you dont use em becouse you got a bettter gun already.
the lev.. /me is disapointed in. its seems imposible to take down raptors circeling around it..
the only thing that realy keeps me up and running is the hope of good new maps created by people. and a nice big patch Razz

a poor computer??

it needs to access your harddrive to get the skin....
all harddrives are poor in relation to other components.

You're essentially saying all computers are poor.

I had previously played UT2003, and it seemed ok. The majority of the gamers I knew, however, seemed to be playing other games. Then, when the UT2004 demo was announced, I picked it up. After playing Onslaught once, I, along with most of my friends, was hooked. Really, Onslaught could serve as a completely seperate game. Smile
