Congratulations go out to all of the winners! Screenshots and links to their entries can be found here. Here's a little statement from the infamous Mark Rein over at Epic:
Quote: |
“Like the first round, the second-round entries were really spectacular, At Epic we take the mod community very seriously and are constantly looking for ways to support the community with our new releases and features sets. We have continued this trend with the release of UT2004 which adds numerous tools and features for third and fourth round mod makers.” |
Also, in the upcoming phases, we'll start seeing groups who have had time to work with Unreal Tournament 2004, which they really didn't have much time with in this phase, so who knows, could be something killer waiting in the winds. So are you interested in trying? Here's the lowdown:

Modders still have time to work on entries for the third and fourth rounds of the contest. Anyone can enter in any round, regardless of whether they had any previous entries. In addition, many of the mods already under development are looking for additional talent, including level designers, artists, and programmers. Registration for the third round, with an entry deadline of May 30th, will begin soon. The fourth round will have an entry deadline of August 20th. For more details on entering the contest, go to www.makesomethingunreal.com. Selected entrants from phase four will be shown at ECTS, where the five grand finalists will be announced. Following ECTS the five grand finalists will be given until October 1, 2004 to make additional changes and improvements to their entries for grand prizes consideration. The grand prize will be announced shortly thereafter. In order to participate in the “$1,000,000 NVIDIA Make Something Unreal” mod-making contest, contestants will need to ensure that their mods are freely available for download and work with Unreal Tournament 2004. |
So what are you waiting for, there may be some winning in your future! Head on over to the official Make Something Unreal website for all the juicy details, and get to modding! |

Is anyone else a bit surprised that the Satore Monster Pack beat out runners-up like Excessive, Remote Strike, WoE, and the othes? I mean the thing adds 3 new invasion monsters, thats it. And last time I checked, it didnt even have menus with the appropriate names for the monsters... Kinda weird IMHO, but hey, congrats to everyone regardless of my ramblings! |
