That's probably normal... Unreal 2 is notoriously spec-heavy. XMP uses optimised code and more simplistic maps, so it doesn't take up anything like the resources or loading time. Before my new comp it took about 5 mins to load Unreal 2 maps too...
What specs does your comp have?

I played 2k3 running:

A P4 1.6 GHz Processor
256 PC133 SDRAM
Geforce 2 MX 400
And running it at 800x600 resolution... ^_^; It ran fine, with a lot've tweaking.. <_<; But it's good enough for me to still be a combo-whore. Wink

Some butter is smoother than others! Frankly, I'm not sure how you got Halo to run smooth on that setup, but if so, more power to ya! Sounds like you got more ability than I do.

I figured someone would answer this, but the way to fix the load times are to make sure the box that says "Preload player skins" or something like that is unchecked.

You should upgrade your video card first, then RAM, imho.

I would upgrade both, if possible, ram and a video card. My 128 mb 9800 pro works really well and it is under $200 and ram, unless it is old and rare, would be less than $100. However, if you are financially secure enough I would buy a whole new rig.
