whello,
i got a 200 gig hard drive, seperated into 3 partitions: C, D and E
i use D for games, it has a capisity of about 63 GB. and it says theres 9.5 GB left.
so i removed far cry, i huge game, like 3-4 gigs? dunno exactly. but it still says i only have 9.5 GB left on D.
so i remove Max Payne 2. stil same amount left.
i cleaned using every cleaning program there is. the standard windows one, my norton systemworks one. i defraged it. then did it again. then used norton speed disk, norton disk cleaner, norton disk doctor.. but i am missing about 10 GB of hard disc space 
when i select all the folders on the D drive it says 42 GB. so substract 63 from that. that makes 21 GB remaining, now when i right mouse>propertys my D drive it says only 9.5 GB remain.. so wheres that 11.5 GB gone to?
i rebooted to.. but no succes.
i know there are programs that let you see the diskspace, and where it has gone to (folders etc) but i dont know where i can find such a program and what they are called. can anyone help me with that? i would realy apriciate.
or if you know any other way in solving this problem.

ewww, y did u partition? get a seperate hdd if u want a hdd for games only.
my rig has 2 harddrives both 120's. 1 is for programs and operating system, other is for games...and its much better for games in this setup since your computer needs to read the operating system constantly...why strain it more with games that load all the time. just my 2 cents |

hmm, il consider that when i buy a new HDD./ il get 2 200 GBs:P
but doesnt it cost more?
like 2 100GBs kost more then 1 200 GB?
and i only need about 50 GB for games, and 100 for.. well.. other stuf, people that know me longer know what im talking about, and its not pr0n!
but you dont know how to get my 10 GB back? |

look on the case of the HD it should say XXXXXXXXX MB divide that number by 1024 and u got the amount of gigs u have
they only say its 200 because its easier for people to understand than 189.574 GB! |

i think i already replyed to that..
i know damnit, read my first messages again, i counted that in while calculating.
but if i select all the files and folders, and then look at the space that takes up, and then look at what the propertys says. then it comes with to less.. and like say at that moment i had like 5 GB less then i should have. i remove someting weighting 3 GB, and then i miss 8 GB.. then i remove somethign of 2 GB, and i miss 10 GB...
but somehow sometimes it does it right.. it now says 14 GB free.. so its a little bit better.. but still im missing like 4-5 GB now.. |
