Star Wars Republic Commando is going to be a sweet game. Yea I said it. Hold me to it if you like. Everything I have read makes me really really want to play it. Futuristic tactical squad based warfare is definitely my type of game.
Gamespot posted a very cool designer diary of Republican Commando. Actually, this is one of the better previews I have read. It goes into the science and storyline behind the Republican Commando's differences from their normal whitewashed comrades. Even bringing in the great Jango Fett to offer clone development advice to the Kaminoans. I am not quoting this one since it is a good read and I don’t want to spoil any of it for you. If you feel like talking about it just post in da forums.
Along those lines we also were provided, courtesy of 3D Gamers, a new video of Republic Commando's arsenal. Sniping, AV, and melee are all there. And is seems LucasArts even upgraded those wimpy Blasters.
IGN has also released a new RC video:

As the second of our four-part series (you can visit the first one on the game's artwork here), today's slick, well-produced developer video highlights how the LucasArts team learned the ropes. The ropes being its crash course on squad tactics and assault given by a real professional, Special Ops Instructor Joe Bacciocco. |
I can't seem to get the IGN video to stream and I don't want to subscribe to IGN. So, if it is cool or you find another source let me know. Finally, if you have not visited the newly upgraded official Star Wars Republic Commando website, don't waste anymore time. The intro and official trailer are well worth the visit.
I am going on a nice mini-vacation. Minor league hockey and beer. Have a safe weekend and stay out of trouble. |
