Seems that the folks at Epic are considering a free for non-commercial use release of the UT2k3 engine. This article seems to state that they will be releasing a copy of the engine only (no game specific code) for use by those wanting to develop games for fun. Sounds like a great idea! I know atleast a couple college students that would get a kick out of this! The article also seems to say that they might offer a cheaper purchased version of that release to developers. So head on over and check it out if you're interested! |

Hmmm... It's easier for those students who want to make a game to buy ut2003 and start modding on that one, takes way less time than creating all the necessary classes to get a game.. And I know some people will propably 'steal' some code from ut2003, but that isn't allowed...
But who know what will come from it.. |

that' the Unreal2 engine the one that wa announced is UT2003 based. |

Are you sure? This one's engine build says 2226, the current UT2003 build is 2225 - plus this one has ut2003's menus. |

no I'm not surem, but yes 2226 is the Unreal 2 build number. Unreal2 at the moment is at 2226.5428 |
