Yah, thats right I'm going to be doing some news on tuesdays and thursdays now. with my new job id be kinda hard to do anything fridays. But thats ok, it just means more money! So maybe, just maybe, I can actually GO somewhere this christmas.

I am going to try to wait for retail but the urge to play might get the better of me. Gamestop's and most retail chains around here are usually at least 2 days late on all new releases. I would be more apt to purchase through steam if it was cheaper. They are getting out of cover art, manuals, discs, ect so why not pass the savings to the consumer? |

Dude UO will not ever tell you how to warez (stealing software using peer to peer client software Kazaa, Bearshare, ect) software. Matter of fact I think it is one of the lamest uses of the internet ever.
Steam is a client Valve setup to distribute game files and patches over teh net. You have to pay to download HL2 the only advantage to obtaining HL2 via Steam is that you will have it way before the stores have the retail versions. |

cheetah you idiot
if you buy it using steam (theres a webpage you can order it from) they send you an e-mail with the CD key and THEN you can start downloading it, or if you already downloaded it (hl2 preloading) you can use that key to activate the installer and finally install and play the game |

sure ... but you either need to use the Steam(ing pile of crap)-system or wait for months for Ati to send you your cd's. 
And even though it is 'free' I'm not even sure I want to bother with either option, because HL2 doesn't look that interesting to me (compared to STALKER for example). |

Yeah, Im not a big HL fan, frankly I thought the original game was a pretty average game that made good use of scripted sequences but nothing all that special. That said, I think HL2 has some promise in a few key areas, and free is free... |

Glad that 9800 XT deal has paid off for you SK. I hope HL 2 will be one hell of a game. I guess time will tell. |
