No, it is a good deal, but a great deal would be with a GF2 video card or something. My point is that all that computer would not be good enough for a decent game of UT2004 without a "decent" video card. Price is right though.

Not a bad machine to start with, but a bit under-powered for the most modern games. If I had the problem with adware, I'd use Ad-aware and then Spybot. Right after that, and before starting IE (or any other browser) I'd open the C:\Windows(system folder)\system32\drivers\etc\ folder and clean out the Hosts file. (might be in a different location for ME. In that case do a search for Hosts.*) Sometimes this gets "hijacked". Simply delete everythin except the line which says
"127.0.0.1 Localhost"
Then run anti-virus.
Of course, if you ask me, the biggest problem is the OS. ME is the suckiest OS ever made by Microsoft, and even some of their own engineers admit to it. Released buggy, and not really ever corrected. More like a bastard child of an OS than a full OS.
Everyone I know who has ever upgraded their OS from ME has come back to thank me for it. Some people don't have any problems, but I think they are the minority.
Tycho, does that come with a case and whatnot? Any pics? What kind of PSU does it have? I don't have a need for it, but those things might be of interest for those here who are looking to upgrade. |

technically my cusion, who currently is a park ranger, has you all beat 
he has NO computer, except for a 10 year old Macintosh... i have been trying to hook him up with another pc for a while... but if you already promised it to someone dont worry about it tycho  |

hes been playing 2k4 and UT since i can remember on his friends pcs, and just the other week he was over and he and i went at it on 2k4... he kicked my ass |

My little sis is in need of a new rig she is on an athlon 700 with 256 ram and a Geforce video card not a Geforce 2,3, or 4 but an original geforce. |

wat about mine i can only hold one game periond. nothing eelse its fairly pitiful, i am a hard core gamer on my dads but he has baned me from it cause i play to much on it, i have no job no car and i my dads an IT manager but he wont get me any spare parts from his work PLZ PLZ PLZ i need a better rig not only for gaming but for my game design, PLZ my email is skateboy4lf@yahoo.com PLZ i need this badly |
