Cheetah, remember that although the maps are enormous, fights only occur at one place at certain times. You only ever need to fight at the current node that's in play, therefore 6 people fighting in the same little area is perfectly fine. Likewise 16 would be alright too. |
but capturing power nodes is much easier because few know about your location and such so the fights maybe aren't that many |

I'm not sure I'm understanding you correctly so sorry if I got the wrong end of the stick, but you can't just capture any node at any time. Everyone will know everyone else's approximate location, because everyone will be fighting over the same two nodes at the same time. There's no reason to stray too far from the two conflict nodes.
Alpha, they did say several times that the demo won't be released this weekend . Personally I'm going for Wednesday. |

from what i remember playing, You can only attack the power nodes that are connected to a power node that you already controll. and if that isnt the case you can only attack one when it's connected to your power generator. so the battle will be held all over during the middle of the game, not only in one or two spots, and the beginning and end of the game will be held at the same locations, In the bases.
oh btw i'm going for wednesday too. but i think it's going to be more around early wednesday. |

there are 1-2 points where the action will be but for 3v3 it isn't very much |

Yup that's how it goes, but how would the battle be held all over in mid-game? Unless the map only has one or two nodes? |

most maps have 3 nodes in the center of the map kinda like this (its not really laid out like this but this is just a demonstration):
Code: |
Red Core ---------(0)
/ | \
/ | \
/ | \
(0) (0) (0)
\ | /
\ | /
\ | /
(0)--------- Blue Core |
these "(0)" are nodes and "-----" is the path to the bases which have the cores in them
what i mean is that obviously the red will get the node by their base and blue will get the node by theirs. but the three in the middle are the wildcards. they want to get the path of least resistance to the enemy core, so say this happens:
Code: |
Red Core ---------(R)
/ | \
/ | \
/ | \
(0) (R) (B)
\ | /
\ | /
\ | /
(B)--------- Blue Core |
notice that both teams are ready to attack the other teams final node, obviously their going to send a few people to take out the both of the other teams nodes, and since you can only take over nodes that are connected to your power core if the blue does a sneak attack on the red final core:
Code: |
Red Core ---------(B)
/ | \
/ | \
/ | \
(0) (R) (B)
\ | /
\ | /
\ | /
(B)--------- Blue Core |
The center red node is left unpowered and the red cant capture it. So it stands to figure that both teams will do one of two things, or both if they have enough people.
one: is do the above and attack the other teams power core which means a short game and a stranded red power node in the center of the map.
or
Code: |
Red Core ---------(R)
/ | \
/ | \
/ | \
(0) (X) (X)
\ | /
\ | /
\ | /
(B)--------- Blue Core |
two: both center nodes will come under attack from each enemy team and the battles will be for sole controll of one or both or all of the center nodes and therefore most of the battleing is on the middle of the map.
btw i just thought of a good strategy for one of these types of maps:
1:
Code: |
Red Core ---------(0)
/ | \
/ | \
/ | \
(0) (0) (0)
\ | /
\ | /
\ | /
(0)--------- Blue Core |
2:
Code: |
Red Core ---------(R)
/ | \
/ | \
/ | \
(B) (R) (B)
\ | /
\ | /
\ | /
(B)--------- Blue Core |
3:
Code: |
Red Core ---------(B)
| / | \
/ / | \
/ / | \
/ (B) (R) (B)
/ \ | /
/ \ | /
/ \ | /
/ (B)-------------- Blue Core
/ |
\_airstrike to kill ground troops as they spawn _/ |
4:
Code: |
Red XXX Core ---------(B)
| / | \
| / | \
| / | \
| (B) (R) (B)
/ \ | /
/ \ | /
/ \ | /
/ (B)-------------- Blue Core
/ |
\_airstrike to kill ground troops as they spawn _/ |
btw i know it looks like shit but it's the best i can do |
