I must say on this sad day that I’m extremely disappointed with Epic’s behavior on this affair. That even could have been beneficial by enlarging their fan base and by generating financial fallback. I lived too far from the main event location to make it, but I was looking forward to the event, and I did what I think is my part for that event to happen.
That was a pretty lame shot from Epic, enough for me to stop supporting them. I hope I’m not the only one thinking like that. As of today, I won’t see this company the same way then before. |

I hate to play the devil's advocate here, but was mark informed that a lack of epic support meant no unreal expo whatsoever? I mean I don't know Mark, but I doubt he is diabolically evil enough to have full knowledge of his required signature in order for this event to happen, yet still not provide it.
Also, what was the time frame in this? Did you know that you had to have all three of the companies' support before a certain date or the finacial backing would drop out? I don't know, it just seems kinda sudden. Almost as if the backer was just looking for an excuse for dropping out. |

Tycho, set up a paypal account. Surely, you can get 120 people to put up $100 for the event. |

I can't be bothered to waste my time reading the rest of this thread after the pathetic drivel that I just wasted a part of my life on. Buzz, you have serious issues.
Tycho - It sucks the big one that this fell through, and I can see how much you wanted this to succeed, but you can't blame Epic. It's *normal* for a company not to officially sponsor an event that they can't be sure of the quality of. Most companies don't want their name attached to a shitty product. I'm not saying that it would've been bad, but they had no way of knowing that.
And Buzz, if you get that worked up over something that you didn't have any part in, aside from looking forward to attending it, you need to re-evaluate your life. Tycho has spent two years PLANNING this and you blow up like that while he doesn't? Jeez. |

I'm sorry Tycho; I know how much work you (and others) have put into this and how very disappointed you must be.
But...is there no way to plan something smaller and more affordable? I really hate to see this whole idea die... |

Any chance we can cancel the flame war long enough to consider our options?
Frankly, I think now that the matter is in the forefront, the lines of communication are open and there are currently no excuses.
And if this primary method of financing doesn't work out, then it's time to consider other things, like moving back the date, or trying another backer AFTER getting the approproate green lights from all involved parties, or selling vendor space for merch tables. |

[Still w0rf] To sum up, the only way it's truly 100% dead is if we throw up our hands now and give up. Flaming Epic to hell certainly isn't going to make it go smoother. We need to work the problem. |

By the way I am Buzz ... I don't give a fat F* if there is someone by that name! How stupid are you people. Been Buzz forever and plan to stay that way so if you are confused that's your own fault. I never claimed to be this other Buzz you were talking about.
And about my swearing ... it was to make a point !!!! And I'll say it again I don't give a damn about spelling in a forum ... what makes you think I should take the time to impress any of you out there. Hell if you met me on the streets you wouldn't know me from Adam ... none of you will ever be my boss or see my writings that I sell for a living so ....
Anyway I'm real about what I said ... True Fans find a way to make things work ... the rest just take the BS in life that is handed to them and roll over. I got my $1,000 all ready ... anyone ANYONE else? I thought not!!! You'd rather spend all your money on the next greatest system or Vid card than get this thing launched ... Bah.
Again read my All my posts and other messages before making comments that make YOU look bad. I have a child and I know all about profanity and don't need anyone else telling when it's not appropriate to swear or not. In this case it definitely is. Sorry for all of you who didn't plan on attending but for those of us that did and made arrangements this HURTS LIKE HELL! So now I'm out for good ... what's the use of arguing over the net ... only cowards do that crap. Peace.

First off I have no serious issues ... but I won't waste time explaining to you that my kids have been playing this damned game since UT99 and have been looking forward to something like this for a very long time.
Tycho did his damned best to pull this off and you don't even know the whole story and you post this crazy thread. Please dude, Jeez yourself. For you to even imply that T wouldn't have made this event the type of event Epic, Atari, and the whole community would have been proud of is insukting to say the least. Tycho doesn't need to show his true disappointment ... that's where guys (with kids) like me come in. I can say what he must feel (and what many must feel) because I DON'T give a damn what anyone but my family and those willing to somehow make this event happen have to say to me.Tycho can't afford to burn his bridges just yet. You need to grow up and learn the ART of WAR. It's a great book written by the legendary Sun Tzu ... read it and then get back to me.
For everyone (anyone) who wants to do something about this event get in touch with me at buzzati@aol.com ... if you just want to waste your time writing a biting email I won't read feel free. Peace to all the TRUE UNREAL FANS.

I think its pretty sad that ppl like you can have children. Can't you understand that the way you behave rubs off on youre kids. So if I understand youre posts right this means that you find it pretty normal to curse, make ppl feel stupid and generally state an oppinion without reading or thinking about the consequenses. Did you name youre kid Bubba so he blends in nice in prison later?
BTW you made youre first 1000 $ ... that isnt too much got youre loan today or so? I make 3 times that money every month, and spend it all on super new cool games like UT2004, Fast internet connections and really really fast computers and Vid cards. And you know why?
TO KICK YOURE ASS in onslaught or any other gametype. And i dont need to be youre boss because youre my BITCH already, bitch!
I would never attend because i'm also too far away from the event but i orginized a few LAN party's myself, only not as big as this event. There are always last moment arrengments that doesnt work out like you intended. That is why you should always have some backup or legally dig youreself in so ppl cant walk away or discontinue their services. If youre events hangs on 1 email/sms/letter then in my oppinion youre not pretty smart. Mark Rein didnt solve this pretty nice but that doesnt mean that your event must depend on that.
Sorry for the ppl who made reservations but if they really wanted it to go through then there is always a way.
Hang on and keep thinking like adults and not 14 yr. old kids just because internet is mostly anonymous.

Buzz again ...
Tycho, what if everyone who bought the game just sent you a dollar (didn't this game sell tnes of thousands of copies worldwide?)? Now let all those people who say thet are fans put up or shut up. How much easier can this be. We trust you man ... at least I do. We could set up a meeting ... I'd even be willing to travel to you. If ONLY those other players of the game would make a tiny sacrifice this thing could work albiet it may have to be reschulded. Peace man and keep your chin up high!!

Koetje again....
What statement is more true?
- I gotta pay 1 dollar so Buzz his kids can go to some UT event? even its halfway acros the world
- If i dont pay a dollar I'm not a true Unreal fan (beside i bought a copy already and donate the community with a server and other services)
- Buzz is just so stupid and single minded about his childeren he wastes bandwith with stupid idea's and offending posts.
Buzz were do you kids play on? I mean the servers, they are mostly donated by Epic or some guy @ home on his private paid line. So be glad ppl spend money on computer hardware so youre kids can play online.
And that is so american ... Say peace while you invade other ppl privacy, country or mood by acting like youre superieur. (which youre not) |

You little punk ass bitch!!! You went to far dude!!! Way to far!!! Calling me a bitch and tallking about my parenting skills. Fuck making me your bitch in the game called ONSLAUGHT .... I'll make you my bitch in real life.
I didn't want this forum to go there but if you think I'd let a PUSSY like you call me a BITCH you are crazy. Let's take this out the forum and find a place to meet if you are man enough to handle that!!!
We'll see who the bitch is then. But OH I forget you are such a pussy you couldn't even email me in private to talk shit (even though my email is listed). You had to say something like that here in the open. Whatever .... dude I drive all around the U.S. If you let me know where you are we can settle this BS like men. But knowing you ... you'll just keep calling me names over the net cuz you are the real No balls having bitch! And NEVER bring my kids into this kind of a thread!!! You seriously don't know who you are fucking with little boy (or should I SAY BITCH ass racist puke).
Buzz in Northern Calif. just waitin to hear more shit from you K-dog!!!!! Send me your email and let's not make this forum our boxing ring. I want you one on one in the real world not the net!!! And dude! You can't even begin to imagine what my bank account is so fuck your measly less than six figure salary little boy. Keep buying your bullshit toys and not offering any kind of assistance... one day you'll wake up and know what a real man does with his money ... PUSSY!!!!!
PLEASE TELL ME HOW TO GET TO YOU if you are a real man at all.

BUZZ AND KOETJE! ENOUGH!
The two of you are going back and forth in this topic making a stink and starting a flame war and it is doing NO ONE any good.
First off, Buzz, we (the staff) have warned you more than once about your cursing. Second off, constantly posting about "THE REAL" Unreal Fans is complete crap. People who enjoy the game and play it for fun and for the love of it are the real fans. People who alienate others and launch petty verbal attacks on message boards aren't. Being an Unreal fan means being part of a community.
This community has suffered a bad blow here, true. Pointing fingers and pissing off people will do NOTHING.
Read it again. Nothing.
So, say something constructive. If you make $15,000 in a week, then hey, why don't you donate some of that to make the Unreal Expo happen?
Next, Koetje. Pretty much the same stuff I said to Buzz applies to you, but one other piece of advice - don't come on here spouting a bunch of crap about politics. This is not the time, or the place.
And by the way, as for it being anonymous, I have both of your IPs and will take action with them if this behavior does not stop.
Thank you. |

Thanks Buzz for proofing my point.
First of all ... No i'm not impressed and not even scared. They only way to come and see me costs more then 1000 $. Also i'm not gonna make stupid threats back now because it pointless
The only thing i wanted you to do ... IS THINK ... before you type. Like you proofed that isnt youre case. Instead of coming with good arguments you just start making treats. Start bitching about i talking about youre kids while you started mentioning them.
You are pretty pissed ... YOU SEE WHAT EFFECT YOURE CURSING CAN HAVE ON PPL ???
Not that i'm against all cursing but its the way ppl do it. Also the offending way this excuus for a human thinks can write isnt really decent.
Also why i put it up here instead of sending it personal is because i hope other (more smart) ppl here can learn something of the effect of posting offending posts.
Personal advice to Buzz ... chill and get a life. |
