Ok, I couldn't pass up the oppertunity to post about this, cause I'm a very giving guy after all.
For a while now I've been a fan reader of Penny Arcade, and I'll admit, I've sucked their bandwidth down, laughed at their comics, and enjoyed they're mocking of Doom3 screenshots. But today I visited my other beloved read, and what do I find? A charity post.
The guys over at Penny Arcade have come up with a new piece known as Child's Play. Wherein gamers (targetted, as that's their reader base), or anyone for that manner, can pick an item off of their Amazon Wishlist, and have it sent to the guys at Penny Arcade, and they'll in turn give it to the Seattle Children’s Hospital. Talk about a great idea. And if you don't see anything you'd like to donate on the wishlist? Well, they accept cash donations as well.
Finally, a chance for us gamers to show people that no, we're not the evil corrupted people that the media would have the public believe. No, infact, we're kind, giving people, who actually care about what happens to our fellow members of humanity.
Speaking of the hospital they're donateing this stuff to, this gamer was once a visitor of there, having 3 surgerys. It's a very very nice place, and the staff there really makes a kid feel welcome in a time where they're scared.
So from one gamer to another, I urge you to go visit the Child's Play website, and give a little gamer something in their time of need. |
