So, in the infinite wisdom of trying to make sure everyone has a safe holiday season, I thought we'd have a non-violent freeware game this week. So I got to thinking, well, what type of game hasn't been spotlighted yet? Why, I don't believe I've done a racing game. So here it is, a racing game.

This weeks Freeware Spotlight goes out to GeneRally, a completely free RC Car Racer. RC? Yes, Remote Control (atleast, that's what I'm assuming from the tiny little cars you get to race, either that or you're piloting it from a blimp). So what makes this game special enough to deserve a spotlight? Well, lets see, it's completely free, supports up to 6 players, and is a wonderfully replayable game.

The developers are a bunch of no-fuss type people, as is evident from their readme, which goes something like this:
THE GAME

GeneRally is a racing game for one to six
players. You'll be racing on various
tracks in time trial mode or against human
and/or computer opponents in championship
mode.
No beating around the bush, no trying to hype it up, it is exactly what they claim, a racing game for 1 to 6 players. But oh what a game. There are multiple vechiles you can race in, rangeing from a uniwheel vehicle, to a monster truck. And there are plenty of maps to enjoy. Don't like the ones that come with it? Well, it includes a map editor too, so you can make the racing field of your dreams!

Definately a great game, and I only wish I could have gotten you guys some screenshots, but those are to be had if you just visit the Official Website. So head on over, and get in some racing! Who knows, could be practice for all that extra holiday traffic out there.
