This Friday's subject out to bring out some nice responses from everyone. To kick off this beautiful summer weekend it is time for the ultimate debate. What is the best Unreal game ever? I have to think about this one and post my thoughts later in the forums. |

Deus Ex. No contest, has the most compelling storyline of ANY fps I've ever played, and awesome music (Michiel van den Bos > All). |

well agree with Angelmapper with the Unreal engine game but I say UT2k3 it's a huge step but no one sees it |

Classic Unreal
It started everything off, it was AMAZING for it's day (major competition? quake2.... blech). The graphics and the story level were rather unparalleled in the gaming world at the time. Sure, the multiplayer sucked online, but it was also the foundation for what we now lovingly call UT, so without it, none of this would have been possible. Also, over the lan, it was a great source for FPS fun...
So yes, to Classic Unreal my vote goes. |

Nice choice, but I just don't see the innovation on this one.... I mean, don't get me wrong, it was a GREAT GREAT game, but sit down, compare it side by side with Unreal, and I don't get that feeling of "oh wow!" that I should with a new game Unreal, UT2k3, and Unreal 2 had that, but for some reason, UT seemed very much like a re-skinned Unreal to me.... atleast on many levels (which indeed it was somewhat designed to be, a more "multiplayer friendly" Unreal)
Good choice though |

I vote for UT (1) as well since it was a huge step for the multiplayer gaming and it brought me more fun then orginal Unreal (which was a great game in an era of quake 2 powered games).. |

Could be the same thing, it's all in the eye of the beholder.
To some, the best is the one that provides the most fun. |
