I'm sure that a lot of you here have probably played either AVP or AVP2, both of them excellent games. Well, for fans of Alien and fans of Predator, we have some good news to share! The movie is now official, and Fox plans to premiere it this summer. Of course, I wouldn't share this news with you without also giving you this. Click on that link to go watch the exclusive internet trailer. Man, I can't wait!

Schweet. Actually it became official nearly a year ago (shortly after an AvP news site put up a joke about it for April Fools Day Razz).
I think after the success of the games and comics, the AvP movie would have become a reality without Freddy vs Jason to push it along. Just maybe not as soon...

The movie's out in August, Cheetah Razz. Nobody's seen it because it hasn't even been finished yet.

As for the games, AvP1 was *amazing* for its time, arrived around the same time as Half-Life and kicked it squarely in the nuts, if you ask me. It looks *very* dated now, and doesn't work properly on most modern hardware (not on mine anyway), but it's still very tense, atmospheric and one of the most difficult games I've ever played. AvP2 had its moments, but it wasn't classic like the original. Its multiplayer had a lot of potential, but Monolith aren't anything like Epic and they just left the game to the hackers and aimbots. AvP3, if done correctly and taking the right elements from both the games, could be one of the best games of all time. No word on whether it's even on the cards yet though.

You've seen the trailer? looks preety finished to me. I love AvP2 on a dark LAN.
