It is with great pleasure that I make the following post. At 2pm today around the net Digital Extremes is releasing a teaser movie for their upcoming project called Dark Sector. Below is the first screenie from this as well as the new logo. At the bottom of the post I will have links to the teaser trailer and more details on the game.

Now for the kickers. The movie is made from actual ingame footage. The game is being designed for Next Generation hardware and gaming platforms. The game is currently a couple of years out. The game is using the Sector Engine. You heard me right on that one! DE is not using the Unreal Engine for their next game. Only time will tell to see if their gamble pays off. Rest assured we will be giving you more details and screenies as they are released! So until then check out the official Dark Sector website. I told you it was going to be a good day for gamers.  |

what is it for kind of game? FPS?
looks nice, nice light effects etc.
anyone know anything about the game? what it is, etc etc? |

IIRC the game was supposed to be a MMORPG of some kind.
I'm not sure whether that's changed (it looks too good for that kind of game) ... |

Cheetah, please keep in mind that most of the information is dated (old)...from about 4 years ago. Regardless, at least you will have some type of understanding about what DE was doing at the time with the game.
It's been four years. Things most likely have changed in some manner (specifics of the game..story...characters...so on, and whether it's still a massive multiplayer game (I'm pretty sure it still is). It may change more 2 years from now (or when it's done). So keep that in mind.

Well, they got diverted by U Championship, UT2003, UT2004, Pariah and that Tank Game (forget the name) in the mean time.
Just a matter of putting side something Big to do quicker moneyspinners. Get the company financially solid. |
