In an interesting twist Alexander Seropian, one of the founders of Bungie, has left the Microsoft Game Studios in favor of starting his own company and developing games using Halo Engine technology. Here's a little quote from the from the article over at gamesindustry.biz:

So perhaps he's found his nirvana in creating his own studio, and we can only hope. While I don't think it will pose any immediate threats to our beloved Unreal Tournament 2004, it's nice to see that there are still game companies opening up out there, looking at creating quality software.
