Wouldn't you know it? I got a new processor today (2.4ghz P4) and as I got ready to install it, I noticed that my mobo has one hell of a scheme to anchor the heatsink and fan to the board. Yes, Intel, makers of my 850GB board, is an SOB company.
Friggin SOBs.
So, anyway, I went ahead and tried to get the damn thing off and install the new chip, but four bloody finger tips later (with some blood on the board, as well... is that good thermal paste?) I'm doing your news and I'm still on my old chip.
Anyone else got a board like mine that has some tips for getting that damn heatsink off? This chip was just a hand-me-down from a customer who I built a new b0x for today, but it looks like I'll just be waiting till I buy a new PC to get that extra performance boost.
Unless, anyone has an Intel Desktop 850GB series board, and can help me with this dilemma.
