I don't want to step of Raven's toes today but while I was surfing the net yesterday I stopped by the official Unreal Championship 2: The Liandri Conflict website. If you haven't checked it out I suggest you do. There is a lot of general information about this upcoming shooter and a couple of cool videos. Unlike the original Unreal Championship, where any differences between the player models were purely aesthetic, Liandri Conflict divides the characters into classes – each with a different set of attributes, such as speed, armor, and the like. Classes also start each round off with unique selection of default weapons, broken up into four categories: melee, ranged, ballistic and energy. While the player is limited to only one weapon from each category, weapons from fallen foes can be picked up and swapped with the weapon the character was carrying beforehand – choosing which four weapons to carry at any one time is just one of the subtle strategic elements that Epic has infused into UC2 to help it break away from the mindless fragfest gameplay that was featured in its predecessor. |
