Eurogamer conducted an interview with Tim Sweeney and Mark Rein of Epic. Here is a little preview of the interview:
Quote: |
Eurogamer: Has anyone else confirmed projects using Unreal engine 3?
Mark Rein: No, not yet. No one's announced a single game using Unreal 3, not even us, in fact! So many of the developers using the next generation of technology are focused on next generation consoles, and of course those haven't even been announced, so I don't think you'll see product announcements for another four or five months. |
Head on over and check out Eurogamer's Unreal Engine 3 Interview if you can't get enough of Mr. Sweeney, Mr. Rein, or the 3rd generation Unreal Engine. |

DARK SECTOR or whatever this games name was, the one that looked like a 3d programm render and it was actualy ingame footage - i was sure its u3 engine. plus i dont belive they will not do an unreal title on this engine. why? - its called unreal 3 engine, why do different games on it first and not something unreal? |

Actually Dark Sector is being made by Digital Extremes and it uses DE's brand new 'Sector Engine'. Yes the screenshots that were released were in-game shots. I hope to here more information on the project soon. |

The Unreal Engine is used for many games out there other than UT etc (dozens actually...).
Besides, I think a change may be good. I feel they could still move forward with UT but something different may start the creative juices flowing again. |

I hope DS does get DE's creative juices flowing because the tournament is getting a bit stale. UT is one of my favorite games but the new versions don't keep my attention for very long. :/ |
