Yahoo is reporting that the final installment of the new Star War's trilogy will be named Revenge of the Sith. I believe the original title of Return of the Jedi was Revenge of the Jedi and since Jedi's don't play on petty emotions the title was changed. So this isn't exactly surprising to me. I really hope this episode turns out to the Empire of the series, dark and futile, as it should be. Remember A New Hope is the title of the fourth installment/first film.
Edit: I visited the official Star Wars site and found some more info.

The Sith are masters of the dark side of the Force and the sworn enemies of the Jedi. They were all but exterminated by the Jedi a thousand years ago, but the evil order continued in secrecy. They operated quietly, behind the scenes, acting in pairs - a Master and an Apprentice - patiently biding their time before they could take over the galaxy. In Episode III, they'll finally exact their revenge on the Jedi. |
And how would 6,500 comic-book fans in attendance at the 35th annual Comic-Con International in San Diego react after hearing this announcement?

Many in the audience jumped out of their seats, thunderously screaming in joy. Some even gave one another hugs. |
Yup, I don't like Star Wars that much. :p |

No Star Wars bashing allowed here. However JaFO your thoughts on the Mark Rein interview are needed. So head your ass over to that thread please. Danke. |

I was looking at Brizz's thread and I like some of the changes but placing the new Ankin in teh old movies is almost blasphemy to me. The Jabba doesn't look all that improved either. |

I don't mind the Jabba thing so much, but not sure why they used the new improved Annakin. I guess it doesn't matter anyway, George never listens to his fans. He's always right and his opinion is the only one that counts.
Maybe I'd feel that way about my only achievement too. |

Hayden.
Bad Anakin.
Putting him in RotJ?
Bad George.
I was, for a long time, a die-hard SW fan. Owned every game, book, movie, SE movie, posters.... you name it. I spent countless amounts of money on that stuff.
Then the prequels started coming out. They were a blasphemy to so much.
Boba Fett being a clone of Jango Fett, rather than being JourneyMaster Kaster Mereel? BS.
Storm Troopers all being clones of Jango Fett (something they're trying to do in the re-mastered versions by dubbing in Jango's voice over the ST's) is also BS - if all the STs were clones, then how do people like Han get into the corps? He was, for anyone who remembers, an ex-ST. Also, it would be impossible to sneak around as an ST - they're all the same.
Qui-Gon Jinn? WTF. Obi-Wan was trained by Yoda, as mention in ESB: "Much anger in his heart. I cannot train him" - Yoda "Was I any different when you trained me?" - Ben
Yet, in the movies, Obi-Wan is a calm, serene guy, even calmer than his master Qui-Gon.
Look, call me a purist, but this new stuff is bullshit. It puts Lucas on my kill list, alongside Bill Gates. (Yes, I do deem him worthy to die, only because WinXP won't allow FF7 to run.) |

I'm with you on most points, but it appears to me as though Yoda has his hands on all young Jedi at some point in their training.
I think that the SW trilogy (oops, need a new name) has gone downhill since the prequels, but I never paid that much attention to the story other than a couple of books.
As far as I'm concerned, I'll go see it if it has Natalie Portman. |
