Well it what can only be described as a very interesting move. Midway announced yesterday that they will be teaming up with Epic to publish several future Unreal Tournament games. HomeLAN caught up with Mark Rein and fired off some interesting questions to him.

Now for the first time in a while I can comment on my personal thoughts without retaliation. What does this move REALLY mean? Well first up this is an interesting move because they took Unreal Championship 2 from Microsoft and gave it to Midway. I didn't know the game had been delayed until this article. The reasons for it? Well knowing Rein there is probably some truth about adding new content being the reason for the delay but.. I also think that this deal had some part as well.

Who is the loser in all of this? Atari. Atari why not Microsoft? Well if you remember Atari wasn't doing to hot last year and made some major changes. The Unreal Franchise helped them out immensely and they saved a little face by the end of the year. Microsoft is a big company and didn't need Epic to survive. Will Atari flop? Probably not but the fact that Epic is shopping around rights to one of the biggest gaming frachises to other publishers sure as hell isn't going to help them. It will be very interesting to see how things play out over the next 6 months.
