A quick break from one of my last weeks of a free summer... Yahoo! News is reporting that Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates would be interested in buying Nintendo if the company was willing to share. As many of you know, Nintendo is the maker of the Gamecube, GameBoy, and other various household console names, while Microsoft is manufacturer of the XBox and developer of... well, probably the operating system AND browser that you're currently using. Microsoft has taken the American console market by storm, but has yet to get a strong grip in Japan where it's strongest competitors, Sony and Nintendo are still the hometown favorites. It'll be interesting to see how this plays out.
What do you think? Would Nintendo ever sell to Microsoft? Furthermore, what would be the results of this marriage? A blissful gaming and software company, or a monopolistic bastard child of two market giants? Sound off in the comments. |

Micro may be interested but I would be very suprised to see Nintendo sell. Stranger things have happened so it is hard to be sure. |
