Team Xbox sat down with Epic's Chief Marketing Officer Steve Allison about the recent Midway/Epic deal. Highlights of the interview include the reason why Unreal Championship 2 will be delayed, why Midway has entered the PC market, and that Midway will use the Unreal Engine for future non-Epic titles.

Why was Unreal Championship 2 delayed until February? Was it related to the development of the game or because Midway wants to work further on the marketing campaign?
Steve Allison: This decision was mainly for marketing purposes, but a little extra development time never hurt. We need the time to get our campaign in order and effectively bring this title to market. The extra time also allows us to do some Midway-specific things in the game which we'll be talking about later on. |
In my opinion this deal with Epic is a sound investment by Midway. I hope the Midway/Epic relationship will flourish and provide us all great games. So what are you waiting for?
