I killed my old 1600+ (with some help from a friend), but now I've got a new 2600+ Mobile, clocked up to 2.4GHz! I highly recommend one of these for a 3000+ CPU for under $100.
Long story short, it's at 200X12 at stock voltages. Runs 49C at idle and 53C at full Doom3.
With 1GB of RAM, and a 9600Pro, I got Doom 3 at 1024 x High, or 800 and 4x AA. ( prefer the 1024 high). All advanced options are on except Vsync.
I did not bench it, but only played the game and it plays pretty darn good! i had to quit because it's getting close to bed and I wanted a bit of time to relax. The original Doom seriously put me in bad condition. this one is not quite as bad so far, but I haven't made it very far yet.
I love the little scary things they throw in just because. Like the body that dangles down and you think it's a monster. that kind of thing. |
