Thanks again to the Make Something Unreal Contest and the hard work of the Eden Eclipse team we have yet another modification release for UT 2004. Josh Catone Public Relations Manager of Eden Eclipse let me know that his team has released the Eden Eclipse Demo 2. If you are not familiar with Eden Eclipse here is a summary:
Quote:

Eden Eclipse is a science-fiction first person 3D action game set in the distant future. You take on the persona of a brave female soldier named Lt. Amber Daniels.
Guide her through the perils of a harsh planet filled with dangerous creatures, unfriendly wastelands, and complex jungles. Along your way you will uncover the secret behind the mysterious red crystals as well as secrets of your own life and past.

Eden Eclipse is being developed as a Mod for Unreal Tournament 2004. The freely available Mod will be a demo of the full version of the game, for which our intentions are to license the Unreal Engine and find a traditional publisher.

This demo weighs in at a hefty 260.90 MB and is available, through a list of mirrors, on the Eden Eclipse official site. But don't think their hard work is over. The EE team has been kind enough to release a performance patch for the EE Demo2.
Quote:

More mirrors will be announced for the patch as they come in. The patch requires Demo 2 is installed to work. It is HIGHLY recommended that you download this patch (24.42MB) before you play Eden Eclipse.

In order to avoid any unnecessary anguish make sure to download the EE Demo 2 (2.01) patch before play.

These guys are working on establishing Eden Eclipse as a retail stand alone product and their work is top notch. The matte painting like introduction looks very professional. If they add vocals I believe it would be even better. The style and look of the game is very nice. I would be HIGHLY interested in reviewing the final product. Wink
