Well after spending sometime working on the newly revamped Nav Bar, I finally finished with my latest review. Today I get into the fun world of sound. I put my thoughts on the cool setup of a Audigy 2 Value and Altec Lansing 251s. Take a gander at what I thought here.

yeha baby, i love sound.. tho i think im getting hearing problems if i continue like this
anyway, i got Altec Lansings to, it rocks!! its 2:1, but i dont care!!
i got a few questions since i dont know that much about sound.
1.
does 5:1 makes music better to?
2.
if i would buy a new sound card, could i just plug it in and select it in the sound propertys on the control pannel? and will it then work?
3:
for 5:1 speakers, you need room, since they need to be placed behind you, but does it mather alot how high theyr set up, and where exactly?
4.
isnt the cables a problem? is there such thing as wireless speakers?
ps. i think the woofer on those speaker set looks awsome, but the satelites (or how you call em?) dont look cool.. but thats all what i think. |

1. In my opinion 5.1 is definitely better for music for 1 person. Not so much if you want more than one to hear it.
2. You would plug it in and then install the drivers (I don't personally use the software that comes with hardware).
3. You don't need much room at all. My bedroom is only 6 foot wide by 11 foot long. Very, very small.
4. Cables are a small pain but not a big one if you place them correctly. |

Update... scratch that... it was a wireless remote...
anyways heres the link, their still a nice speaker system, and they actually turn any audio signal into 5.1 without a audio card upgrade....
dunno how good it is tho......

raven: it definatly looks cool, but if the sound is stereo, it will never become complete 5:1, they can make it look like it, but its never true 5.1
tycho:
thanks for all the answers, but wont the new drivers interfear with the old ones?
also, i more mean, that i need room behind me to place the speakers, like a small closet to put em on. cant put em on the ground or anything. |

no putting them on the floor is a bad thing... but you can buy towers for them that attach into the back of most speakers and enable u to have the speakers up to 3 feet off the ground. |

That wouldn't be very effective for gaming, because it's the directx and the soundcard that build the positional audio information. This allows for things behind you to come from the rear speakers and the things directly in front of you come from the center. These speakers would just have some sort of reverb algorithm to split the sound into the different speakers, making it more "spacious". |
