Just a quick post about the many positive reviews of Resident Evil 4. I know I am very excited about renting and possibly buying RE 4. But then again I have been a fan of the series since its roots. Enough with me babbling here are the reviews:

IGN Resident Evil 4 review (98%)
Gamespy Resident Evil 4 review (5/5 stars)
Gamespot's Resident Evil 4 review & video review (9.6)

So just think, RE 4 is rated the same or higher than Half-Life 2, Halo 2, and Grand Theft Auto:SA. This must be one heck of a game!

If you own a Gamecube then go out and rent it. Everything I have read makes RE 4 sound very cool. I always take most reviews with a grain of salt anyway and read many of them before purchase. Well, unless it has Unreal in the title and then I just go buy. Smile

It looks to be an amazing year for gamecube owners: RE4 and the new Zelda Title as well as a wealth of other, less known works.

Can't wait for RE4 to become available over here. I didn't like the first few, but i think they've changed the gameplay enough to warrant me to give the series another try.

As for reviews? I never compare reviews between genres..... and i rarely trust reviews.

That game looks INCREDIBLE.

Only thing i didn't like in gamespy's video is the two zombies killed simultaneously fall exactly the same way, all synchronized.

[edit]
oh yeah one more thing i didn't like to hear... no strafe... STILL!
ugh.

Well, I doubt rag doll physics was on the agenda when creating RE 4 but it would have been cool.

I think this was a design decision. Since they wanted to keep somewhat with the series. I don't think it will really matter since RE 4 is single player only. You can't fire when you move either so no biggie.

I hope my Gamecube still plays. It might be all clogged up with dust. Razz

Yeah, i don't think we'll be needing to "dodge" any zombies anyway.
It might have helped with level navigation, but Im sure the developers know what they are doing, so I will trust it's fun as hell.

I play too much UT2k4 Wink
