Another Unreal Engine game has grabbed some news today. UGO has a pretty nice write up on Deus Ex 2 which reminded me I wanted to contact the Ion Storm team about Multiplayer. So I have been in contact with Ion's publisher, Eidos about the game and here was their response.
'We still haven't confirmed multiplayer for DX, so I've sat on your questions.'Well that isn't very good news for us MP freaks. However I will keep checking back as the game moves toward completion. |

This is becoming all to common of a thing in the gaming field. Either a game comes out as solely MP, or no MP at all. What ever happened to the days where you got a solid single player WITH a mutliplayer in the same game? Kinda sad to see where this is heading...... |

I agree with you Peoii but there are games that will come with both singelplayer and multiplayer games. 3 Unreal engine games come to my mind when we speak about this and they are Black 9, XIII and Men of Valor. I think these games will have great singelplayer and multiplayer parts. No one can say that Medal of Honour didnīt have great singelplayer and multiplayer and Iīm sure that Men of Valor will be even better

Well, there's no point in MP if no-one plays it.
Months of work and then no-one sets up servers, maybe a few folks muck with it on private lans. Either do it Big or not at all. |
