Thanks to Ilfirin, to pointing this out to me on IRC, earlier. Beyond 3D's forums had a interesting little topic:
ATI Agreement Development Technology Announce Microsoft and Technologies Services Products Xbox Future Power to Graphics ATI So i checked it out, and just as it said, Xbox2 will use ATI graphics instead of Nvidia graphics."We selected ATI after reviewing the top graphics technologies in development and determining that ATI's technical vision fits perfectly with the future direction of Xbox." Wouldn't you? Seems like a rational decision to me. The Gamecube card is ATI and it looks great. |

eh, I dunno, I think the graphics on the xbox look great imho. they're solid, never had any problems with it, and their very easy to mod out.
I worry that ati's idea for the chipset might be a tad more proprietary, which wouldn't allow for as much flexability as the nvidia chipset they currently use..... course, only time will tell. |
