Well it is going up about a half hour sooner than I thought. I hadn't heard back from Epic yet about getting a better pic of the Hellbender to go along with the video. If I get one I will put it ASAP. Now for some background on the HB...
As you can hear from the footage this vehicle is more than just a 'Warthog' clone. I can carry 3 passengers inside. The front is the Driver, the middle is the Top Gunner and the back is the Main Gunner. The Hellbender is not as fast as the Manta or Scorpion but it still move pretty quick for the amount of punch it can do. While not as versatile as the Raptor and not as much damage as the Battle Tank, it is definitely an all around nice weapon/transport.While the weapons still aren't 100% finish on it, the look and feel of the HB is pretty cool. It is a good cover vehicle for ground troops.
One thing I forgot to mention on the Q and A is that you DON'T have the Translocator in Onslaught mode. I know it is hard to think about it make people use and co-ordinate the vehicles better. For CTF hootchies like me you feel naked at first but then you get used to it.We will have the Raptor footage and more information on Friday's news. So check back soon!
Windows Media 9 Hi Quality Version(320x240)
Divx 5 Medium Quality Larger Res Version (640x480)
A HUGE thanks to TyeFang for encoding these videos for me. Another big thanks to Dubious of Factory Unreal for the local mirror. Feel free to mirror these videos but all I ask is to link the main page so people can read more about the vehicles. |

At least it shows the hellbender & dual assualt rifles..and the commentary gives us some good info on the shock combo spread...which sounds like it'll be awesome.
The video was shot on a 8mm camera...so the source is only 320x240 in size...pretty small for PC so I tried to blow it up to make a larger picture, but obviously that will degrade the video a bit.
The WM9 is basically exactly what the source tape looks like, and the DivX is just a blown up version (2x). I have the larger and normal versions in both WM9 and divX too, if anyone wants an alternative to whats provided there now.
Anyways, thanks Tycho for getting these videos for us. We are all starved for more info so its all good.
UT2004 is gonna be awesome.

Looks good! Definately glad to see they just didn't go with a "warthog" style vehicle.... looks like they've put some thought into it, and definately looks like something that will be useful on the field.
Good video man, good video |

I'm downloading the video (divx) right now, and it crawls. I think it would
be great if you could just provide a torrent & a seed, and let the users
supply the bandwidth.

Well, for whatever reason, the divX vid link is not working, but the wm9 link looks to work just fine. Download the wm9 version and then just view it at 200% and you will get exactly what the 640x480 one looks like...pretty much.
The 640x480 version is just a blow up of the 320x240 source anyways.
cheers,
