A little more Tribes: Vengeance facts, it seems that one of the dev’s of T:V is posting a programming diary at IGN. Here’s the link, and a quote:
As well as tools and editors, workflow is an issue that must be addressed for any large team. The game will invariably have a wide range of data that needs to be modified by people from all over the team. For example, artists might need to be able to change the set of textures that an object is using, and designers have to be able to easily modify all sorts of game data, from the amount of thrust provided by the jetpack to the health of an enemy character. Sometimes two people need to be able to change the same thing at once. It's definitely not good for people to have to come and annoy the programmers every time something needs to be changed, so another part of our job is making it easy for everyone on the team to tweak, add and modify |
