A game that I personally enjoyed, Postal 2 has been needing a multiplayer expansion for quite some time. Lucky us, the guys at Running With Scissors have decided to bless me and the other maniacs of the world this fall. HomeLan did a sweet interview with Vince and all the other devs about the upcoming game. Here's a snippet:
HomeLAN - Will there be any new weapons added for the multiplayer modes? Steve Wik - What you'll see will be our single player weapons reworked for multiplayer. Basic things such as kickback and accuracy reduction while moving have been added and we have a scheme for the sniper rifle balancing that's pretty neat. Basically, the edges of the screen darken when someone has you in their scope, also a glint of light appears on the sniper himself (only when he uses his scope) so that he gives his position away. So the sniper rifle becomes challenging to use and doesn't unbalance the game and players don't feel frustrated by unexpected sniper deaths. This also prevents the game from degenerating into "find the sniper". I personally think that this is a pretty sweet idea - also very realistic. I'm looking forward to it. |
