An interesting piece just hit my email box giving a simple url, pointing to this on Toms Hardware. What does this have to do with UT2k3? Well, it seems as though they goofed. Here's the blurb incase they change it:In video the Divx encoder for MPEG-4 will be available shortly in a final version for 64-bit. Game producers in general are also hesitant: although according to AMD, producers like Epic, Valve, Crytek and SCI offer games based on 64-bit code. Companies such as ID Software, who are responsible for titles like Quake3 and Unreal Tournament 2003, are not ready to jump onto the 64-bit bandwagon. So, ID Software was responsible for our beloved UT2k3? Damn, it appears Tycho has been visiting the wrong place this whole time!

He said "companies such as" (notice the "such as" and teh plural-ness)

and responsible for titles "like"...

Not that he's right anyway.
Epic has said they are going 64-bit, at least to some extent. Rolling Eyes

It's just looks pretty bad.... especially the way it was put.

However, where are you getting the information that there will be a 64-bit version? Havn't seen anything like that.

lol, I dunno bout that one.... I've always thought Epics gaming engine just looked better than ID's..... though, doom3 looks impressive, I'm reserving judgement until it's released. UT2k3 would look great, if you designed it with future hardware only in mind, Doom3 looks to be kinda that way, so I'm wondering what they'll have to do to make it a playable game on todays rigs.

When Tim Sweeney released a press release or some such about 64-bit technology about 6 months ago or so, he said that since UT1, the Unreal engine had been built around 64-bit technology and that only a small core files update would be required for UT2003 to work on a 64 bit system flawlessly.
