Wow. Not much news, but rumor is going around that UT2004 should be a 'Holiday Release' now. Kinda sucks.... I saw the trailer say "Fall 2003" and I had my hopes up. Oh well, at least no one's saying "Two Weeks" this time.

I went over to the amazon site to see what their estimated release dates are. Even though they may not be accurate, they're usually close. Unreal Tournament has an ETA of November 18, 2003. Half-life 2 has an ETA of December 1, 2003, and Doom 3 has been pushed all the way back to March 1, 2004. So much for the star lineup of games to buy for the fall.

I still can't beleive they pushed back Doom 3 AGAIN!!! It has been pushed back since 2002.

Half-life 2 should be interesting. Hope they make their new ETA.

As for UT2004, they better not start this delaying bit again. Every time they lose just a little more of their fan base, which is never good for a series.

UT2004 could easily suffer more delays because from what I've heard, the AI isn't properly implemented yet... and we all know how many glitches can riddle the AI. Of course it's not impossible that it'll make the mid/late-November date (especially as UT2003 only had a week or two between going Gold and being released- unlike the debacle of Jedi Academy), so let's keep our fingers crossed. However I'd be very surprised if Half-Life 2 didn't come out before December: Valve didn't say that there was no chance of their meeting the Sept 30th deadline until about a week beforehand, so it must be close to completion. As for Doom 3, though... well, from what we've heard about from the QuakeCon multiplayer test, hardly any of the actual game content (other than the engine, I mean) seems to be finished. The Amazon release date for D3 seems like the most likely estimate at the moment, and I wouldn't be surprised if it took even longer than that.

Ain't it interesting that Max Payne 2 was originally meant to come out early next year, and now it's going to be the first one of the Big 4 to hit the shelves? Razz

The Assualt AI was the least completed when I played it about 3 weeks ago (they didn't play objectives at all).

According to Cliff, a lot has been updated since then, which is, btw, the reason why he won't let me release any of the video I captured while I was there (I have like 16 gigs of UT2004 video in DV format on my external harddrive.)

I may get a chance to go by and capture more updated game footage in the next few weeks...but honeslty, id rather see the demo out before then. Wink

I want Max Payne, UT2004 DVD release, HL2 only for the story, and I don't know about anything else.

I have a Sony media converter device that converts s-video and composite audio and video to DV (and vice-versa). I can capture the dv directly through my firewire port on my laptop while playing on the other computer. This provides the best quality...better than the some of the more expensive scanline converters or even better than recording directly to a camera..

The video from the trailer was NOT captured this way, btw, or it would have been better quality.
