In an interesting piece, it seems the Cyber X Gaming Championship in Las Vegas had some serious lack of planning and preperation, which led quite a few gamers to be less than happy with the outcome of the event. To quote from the article over at gotFrag:
Counter-Strike Tournament: Cancelled.
Counter-Strike All Star Game: Cancelled.
Counter-Strike Womans: Aborted, prizes redistributed.
Call of Duty Tournament: Relocated then aborted, prizes redistributed.
Return to Castle Wolfenstein: Cancelled.
Americas Army: Unfinished, finals online.
Quake III: Aborted, prizes redistributed.
BYOC Tournaments: Cancelled, some prizes given away.
UT2K3 and Warcraft III Tournament: Finished.
So, if you're a UT2k3 player or a Warcraft player, things atleast finalized, but for the rest? Ouch, that's getting ugly mates. This isn't the first time I've heard of a tournament on this scale turning out ugly, so what faith does this give the championship player? What hope do we have that people will finally get their ducks in a row and put on a truely awesome championship match where everyone leaves satisfied? Welp, we can start hopeing.
For those interested, head on over to the gotFrag article and read onward. |
