So this is something that I am hoping brings NVidia some life. They have released several videos of NV40's features. Most notably is the HDR Rendering that will be needed for games life Half-Life 2 and future Unreal games. I was just thinking the other day while I was play testing Lineage 2 that my stop gap upgrade last December is really starting to show its age. I am thinking of going to a 400mhz Memory Bus and obviously a faster processor and motherboard. What mobo are you currently using? The only thing that sucks is someone is going to get a nice deal on my used hardware as most of it is not even 12 months old. |

I'll wait until PCI-express comes out. I see no reason to upgrade for a few FPS. |

PCI - Exspress makes no differance with this generation of cards...
and the NV40 wont be a "few FPS upgrade" We could probly see 2x the framerate in many cases. Personally my ti4200 is out the door as soon as i can get my hands on one of these babies (or the R420 depending on benchmarks)
the demos...
The water effects is quote cool... as is the multiple light source.
Also the first video with the clear model of a lady shows off some cool lighting techniques. I dont have a soundcard here but the visuals were nice |

No that reminds me I need to finish that article. The results are rather surprising. I will work on it this weekend, and the ut2004 review and history of unreal 3. Jesus Real Life is getting me behind in my articles. |
