german version is boring...please help!!!

Hello!

I've bought da german version of ut 2k4, but its a little bit boring because there are no blood and splatter effects like in da UK version!

Is there anybody who could help me to change my version into da UK???

ok, now we got that behind us:
hmm, if you live close to the ducth border, go there, and buy one, i dont think theres languge files, maybe there is.. but the version we got here (netherlands) is just english, and with blood and all.
so i think thats what you want. maybe you can set languge to german when instaling, i cant remember. i think so.
but you will have to buy another UT2004. again 40 euros..
and drive here.
you could also order it online. i do recommen try the settings first, in some games you have to turn it on in the settings.

The problem is the German government. In an effort to prevent any sort of youth-violence-awareness, they have some sort of censorship ministry that decides what is and is not appropriate. Blood in video games, any WW2 game, and anything with a Nazi symbol is NOT appropriate. I even read once that a German UT mapper who created a map in which you fought in a Nazi bunker was actually arrested for it. Mighta just been a net myth... but it wouldn't surprise me.
As for getting blood in the game, I'd suggest asking around for patches. I'm 90% sure that someone would have made a mutator or something for the German version of the game to give it the same bloodsport effects that the other versions all have. If not, then I would suggest either buying a copy of an uncensored (read: American or British) version of the game, or just stroll up to the border and get a copy there. Also, there may be some shops in Germany that carry the bloody version sorta under the table. It might be good to ask.

Wish it were that simple for me... My problem is that I dont' have the time to play the bloody game!

I need to download a patch to fix my roof, upgrade my sister's computer and install a drainage system for the yard. Then I could handle the little things around here and have time for the game. Life sucks.... Wink
