Gentlemen rest assured if I can pull a miracle off I would. At this point it is dead in the water and I didn't want to deceive anyone. I have to go to work now. I will check on you guys later. |

If you are Buzz...how come you have to continue to post under a guest account, and not register...Also why would you turn on a company that has given you financial support for your VTMs and site? |

If you had the backers ready to go, and you got the OK from Atari and DE, how hard can this last hurdle be?
Seriously, email me. I want to explore options before you go into reclusion. |

Kachoona,
Look dude this is getting ridiculous. You don't know me and I don't what the hell you are talking about.
Are you down to put some money where your mouth is? I am? If not don't say anything to me the rest of this forum. I'm not afraid to travel so leave me alone PERIOD ... unless you want to help get us off and rolling. Tycho don't say this is dead in the water yet. With enough of us opther people helping out we COULD DO THIS!!!
Man just think about. Peace.
Buzz
I don't need to post under a name ... That's why I had the guts to say who I am and give my email address out. |

The REAL Buzz rarely posts on his OWN boards...so why would he all of a sudden post more than ten times within one day...
And here is a definition you need to learn badly....
proof·read - To read (copy or proof) in order to find errors and mark corrections.
Now that is P R O O F R E A D...proofread. |

Well, that definately sucks.
I wasn't planning on attending, considering I'm not even close to where this was supposed to be held, but it still sucks to see such a nice initiative end up in disapointment.
I'd have to say Mark Rein's statement doesn't seem to be all that illogical, and I really don't see how so many people automatically hate Epic, want to try and get people to use their products, and hang Mark Rein before actually hearing that side of the story.
This is not even comparable to what Valve has been doing!
Especially Buzz, who was ignorant of the fact there's already a pretty important person in the Unreal community that goes by that name, leading to some extra confusion.
Stuff like that happens; nobody's fault.
But you're swearing like a 13-year old in multiple successive posts, and at the end of your first post you apologise.
There's a Backspace key right on your keyboard, which works wonders once you typed away your anger.
I personally don't have a very big problem with swearing... they're just words, but I hope you do realise you're not setting a good example as an adult.
Also why are calling people spies and Epic sympathizers?
It's not Evil if you can understand Epic's point of view.
That has nothing to do with guts, and unless I missed something you never gave out your name either.
In short: Please read your own posts after you're done writing, and see if there isn't anything volatile in there you might rephrase or rethink.
Thanks.
And I am a real Unreal fan.
I have to admit I know next to nothing about organising an event, but it does seem strange that the financial backer could just walk away this easily.
I know I would REALLY like some kind of autograph somewhere before announcing things in this day and age.
Oh, and it only adds up to the disapointment for UO the non-Unreal content was removed at Epic's request, which again I can understand, only to see things heading this way...
Now I'm off to read http://www.ataricommunity.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=375963 and see what happened after Mark's post. |

I'm sorry for the subsequent post, but I missed something I was alerted to while reading one of the posts in that thread...
Mark was definately wrong not responding at all when he received a question he didn't understand.
Some information, even if it's bad news, or information that needs to be refined after a few calls back and forth is better than nothing at all because the issue was completely... ignored, if that's the right word.
Bad decision! |

Sorry things did not work out guys. It sounds like Mr. Rein and Epic are becoming gheyer by the moment. I hope they realize that a lot of consumers were looking forward to this event and will take that into consideration when buying future Epic products. I know I will and I bought two copies of UT2K4. |
