Welp, just finished enough of a reinstall to get some news posted. Gosh I hate doing these, but it's been long over due for me. So the question comes to mind, how often do you reformat your computer? I try to do it atleast once every 6 months, but I've seen customers who have never even thought about doing it on their 5 year old systems. So, what's the gamers average? Speak out!
Anyways, on with the news. |

I'm running Windows 98, nothing wrong with it, well nothing more than any other version of Windows!
I reinstall about every 18 months.... it's just so much bother, I have far too many games to install back

I'd say an average of every 2-3 months. Depends on how much I'm using my rig, how much time I have on my hands to tweak (or break, depending on who you ask).
I think the LONGEST I've ever gone on one install was last year, when I got about 6 months out of a win2k install, cuz I barely turned my computer on all summer. There was a point that I had the installation key memorized for that win2k disc cuz I had installed it so many times. |

I'm getting to the point where I'm about ready to do just that. I usually get anywhere from a year and a half to 2 years. |

Very rarely. I did to my old computer when I installed win98 in place of win2000 cause I wanted to play games. This computer I got in December so there is definitely no reason to reformat now. I rarely have problems with WinXp thank goodness. It's far more stable than any of the older OS's. |

It's called "backups" cheetah That's how come it doesn't bother me atleast
Man, some of the people around here have systems running on 6gb hdd's that are mostly full, and are running on 5 year old installs.
One of the best systems I've been able to work on in the area was a P3, that had a 10gb hdd, with only about 1.5 gigs used. They use that sucker for email and stocks, and that's about it! That was almost a dream to work on in comparison to some of the states of the other computers. |

If you would actually buy your software... it would be quite easy to reinstall.. |
