I would have to disagree with you on that one Sir. I love UT2004 for MP but Halo still owns all other SP games right now.

Far Cry is superior to Halo in every way. The AI is the most challenging I have ever faced. Every situation plays out differently. The graphics are "Unreal" we are finally getting some use out of those DX 9 features. It looks like D3 on my rig. The story line is pretty thin but I don't need much to get me killin. There is no fluff, really hard puzzles, and teh weapons are very fun to use. I have even grown attached to the multiplayer and will probably play it more than UT2K4 (I like reloading and cone of fire). Even the editor is much more intuitive than UE. Overall if you are one of those people obsessed with Valve and Half-life 2 then don't look any farther. Far Cry for all intents and purposes is the next HL. BTW Tycho the demos don't even scratch the surface of this game.

Far Cry is definately not the next halflife considering many people play HL ofr the story line. Far Cry has one of the most crappy thrown-together story lines I've ever seen. And Halo's story line went on for me to go out and by the Halo books, which are also awsome. And people that say Halo lags, Halo was built for top of the line machines (like mine) and top of the line connections for multiplayer (unlike mines (my DSL sucks)). You shouldnt of even bought the game if you didnt have these, and because of me missing the second requirement I posted I did not buy the game, and went through online channels to grab it. Now that HaloCE is out I desperately want a cd and cd key for this game and have all plans on buying it. Microsoft always releases top of the line games.

Did you actually mean to type HL there, or did you mean Halo? Half-Life's storyline is even worse than Far Cry's, and besides, it's the gameplay that matters. You don't see anyone complaining about Delta Force or Doom's storylines.

Yeah, it's the action that matters. I mean, hey, zombie demon mutants on Mars? But god it felt good to blow those imps to gibs with the BFG 9000. And hey, that sound was awesome. *krchkshhhhhhhh*

Half life was a great single player game (but is only still around due to CS)

Halo was a great single player game for consoles

So, IMO, Far Cry is the next Half Life (great PC single player shooter). BTW I really never cared for Half Life that much, too many ghey puzzles, not enough action. So my statement is a compliment to HL.

Yo, Halo was fun, but too repetitive. How can something with so much of the same graphics take so long to make?!?!?

Half-life is still the beset SP game for me, for the story, and interaction, and action (measured and well-paced, not frantic like I like my MP games). Plus it was one of my favorite MP games at the time (sniper crossbow, haha!)

I just got FarCry and had not problem running Alcohol 120% as a virtual drive with a no-DVD crack. I had to do that because my only DVD player came out of my DVD player in the bedroom (not a PC version ) which just happens to run in a PC. I had to install the game and then put the DVD drive back in the player in the bedroom. First it said I had virtual drive software, then after crack it said "welcome to FarCry" WOOHOO!!

So far it has been a shock to me cause it's been so long since I've played a good SP game. Def not a run-and-gun. but the ambience is cool so far. Graphics are good, but I haven't tried cranking them up yet either, so I don't know how good they can be yet.

FarCry is the best SP game I've played a the present time, but there are a few others coming out this year (we hope) so we'll see then. Personally, I'm looking forward to HL2, Doom3, DNF (pause for laughter) and some of those may be good MP games as well.

HL may not have had the most original SCI-FI story, but the impact was due to the amount of immersion it had. I expect HL2 to do more of that. To get into your head a bit more. Doom3 too. Can't wait.
