You remember our good friend CrashOverwrite right? You know, the guy who did the USkaarj Interview? Well, he's back with yet another interview, and this time, he's interviewed the competition to USkaarj, Unreal Annihilation! For those unfamiliar with it, Unreal Annihilation is a MOD that is attempting to bring the RTS game of Total Annihilation to UT2004. Why you ask? Glad ya did, it's in the interview:
Quote:
CrashOverwrite: Why did you choose UT2004?

FireSlash: Well, UT2003 and UT2004. We originally were working on the first UT, but we ran into tons of limitations that made it quite hard to make an RTS. one of the more annoying problems was the terrain. Making large, outdoor terrain maps was just begging for BSP holes.
Wallace: We decided to switch to UT2003 because it had the karma-physics and the terrain-making. A little while later came UT2004 and it was obvious we needed to have it released on that platform as well since most of Unreal community played that. UA will still be released on UT2003.

And why pick Total Annihilation of all games to MOD into UT2004? Glad you asked that too, cause the answers in there as well:
Quote:
CrashOverwrite: Annihilation... This has been quite a popular game. Why did you choose it and are you all fans of it?

NineInchNeil: I've been a rabid fan of Total Annihilation for about 6 years now.
FireSlash: Why? Well, to be honest, I'm not sure. If anything, it was because my first real online experience in a forum was on TA boards, and it kinda stuck with me.
JonAzz: I love Total Annihilation! have been a fan of it for years when I saw this MOD I fell in love with TA even more.
Wallace: I was never crazy about the game, it was just decent. It played well, it was balanced, it had many cool features which I never saw in any RTS ever again, and it just rocked your computer (literally). My first computer took 5 mins in loading the map Seven Islands. Takes about 10 seconds now. Gives you an idea of how long I know it.

So yeah, a lot of answers are given in the whole interview, and what's the best part about all of this? It's almost done! That's right, soon you'll actually be able to get your hands on this wonderful beauty, so why not go wet your lips and read the interview now.
