Ah yes... looks like I can finally stop leaving that stupid CD in the drive! I did happen to notice this earlier at BeyondUnreal, but I was at school at the time and unable to post about it. I assumed that Zen would have grabbed the credit, but lo, when I got home from my last day of exams (w00t!) there were news submissions from Cheetah and AJ Benhart about the new 3204 patch, so, I guess you guys get to hear the news from me!
Anyway, here's a trimmed changelog for the new patch:
Quote: |
- fixed some memory leaks
- removed temporary sanity checks in projector code and pathfinding code (small performance improvement)
- fixed resource induced memory leak in PixoResource
- fixed memory leak in swiming physics code
- CD/DVD not required to play
- improved balance / bugs in multiple game modes |
Anyway, enough of my babbling. Get the new patch here! |

Hi!
Could anyone please tell me if this patch works with linux servers?
Do i just have to unzip the content of winpatch....exe to the ut2k4 server folder?
please give some words of hope , i have a server and many of the players that play on it have installed the patch...and now they have problems connecting to my server. |

well obviously they will have a problem connecting an updated system to an non-updated server.
i dont think the install we have available on our site works on linux versions.. you might wanna go to the official UT2k4 site and download the correct version.
and btw for installing all you have to do is just double click on the winzip executable and wait till setup starts.
atleast thats all i had to do |

Hi again
the file ut2004-winpatch3204.exe its a zip executable, yes...in Windows if i just double click on it, it will start the install process and choose the right folder..
in linux, i can't run an exe file. but in Windows you can unzip it, like a normal zip file (and just like the patches for UT2K3 and UT99, that weren't UMOD files..) and then put them on the linux server.
Well, in all cases thank you for trying to help me. |
