Anandtech, one of my favorite hardware sites, tested the 64bit beta drivers from both major graphics card manufacturers. The ATI 64bit drivers seemed to lose a couple of frames while the Nvidia 64bit drivers gained a couple of frames compared to the 32bit driver versions in Anandtech's Unreal Tournament 2004 benchmark. I wonder if any of this will change when and if Epic releases a 64bit version of UT2004? You can take a look at the article here.

Well, Nvidia and AMD have always had a special relationship... so I'd imagine that the Nvidia 64-bit drivers may have had a little bit of a clue-in from the inside in terms of making them more efficient with the chip architecture... but that's just a guess. Wink

Actually it's still mixed. ATI was faster in some games, nVidia in others. In UT2004, ATI was faster on that specific benchmark. However, with 64 bit drivers, ATI was a few frames slower than with ATI's 32bit drivers, and nVidia had an improvement in their 64 bit drivers from the 32 bit ones.
