Hmm, kinda surprised I didn't see this.
My real name I haven't told anyone, and don't intend to. It doesn't matter anyway. I am a transsexual, a male in the process of changing into a female. That whole "woman trapped in a man's body" analogy is pretty accurate, or the one I like to give people, it's like Neo trapped in the Matrix knowing something is wrong and then finally figuring out what it is.
That's half of the reason I'm so excited about this new job, it's in San Fransisco which is like Mecca to me. :p
I've been into games since we got our first system, an NES when I was like 9. I remember I would sit there for hours after playing Super Mario 2 and draw out new levels for it.
I joined the Navy right after High School, no money for college and I didn't want to flip burgers. I was accepted into the highest field the military has to offer, Nuclear Power. After boot camp in Great Lakes IL I went to school for a year in Orlando Florida learning nuclear physics and electronics. After that it was six months in Charleston SC for Nuclear Power Prototype, where we get hands on experience working with an actual nuclear reactor for training. It was then that I started getting into level design with Half Life's editor, WorldCraft.
Once all the school was complete I was stationed on the USS John C Stennis based in San Diego. We went on my first six month deployment to the Gulf at the beginning of that next year. During that I bought Unreal Tournament and started getting into that editor. I went on one more six month deployment last year, then got out in December. After that I moved up to northern California and stayed with a friend, it was then that I became part of the staff here. After a few months I moved up here to Reno and stayed with my mother and sister until I got a job. Last month I was referred to Secret Level by CliffyB himself, I'm working remotely for them but there's a good chance I could get hired on full time there.
And of course, a picture. This was when I was staying with my friend in northern California.

yeah if you can cancel without losing cash or whatever, I'd do it, I did a similar (pretty much better actually) for way less than that (something like $1200CDN without monitor), the only thing that would have changed the price would have been that DVD-CDRW Combo drive, which would add a bit of cash, but still, $2200 is outrageous |
