Hot hot hot is what this news is, and a big thanks goes out to Dante for sending us links to it!
Anyway, here's the deal: Epic has announced the "Editor's Choice Edition" of Unreal Tournament 2004, a version of the game that will hit stores with (according to Blue's News) "new maps for the groundbreaking Onslaught mode, new vehicles, new characters and a wide selection of the best user-made game modifications (mods) hand-selected by the designers at Epic Games."
As if that wasn't enough to get you psyched, The Adrenaline Vault is reporting details on some of the new goods:

New Onslaught maps: New maps will include never-before-seen areas as well as previously released maps created for Windows XP.
New Onslaught vehicles: Three new vehicles are being added. The Cicada is a two-seat air vehicle. The Paladin is a tank that includes a player-oriented directional shield. And the Self Propelled Mobile Artillery is a long-range artillery vehicle with a deployable hovering spotter camera.
New characters: Six new characters will join the lineup. Look for two MetalGuard mercenaries and a pair of Mecha Skaarj as well as two Necris characters. |
This version will hit store shelves in Fall, according to Mr. Rein. Now, before you start whining about shelling out money to get ANOTHER edition of the game, be assured that in this HomeLAN Fed article, Mark Rein has assured the Federation that "all of the new content in the upcoming version of their multiplayer shooter will be released on the net for free for owners of the first version of UT 2004."
So, as I see it, this new release will bring in new people as well as satisfying a lot of hardcore fans that already own the game. What do you all think? |

It's weird ... I thought they had the 200x-naming-convention to avoid releasing the same thing each year ?
Or is it that this is the only way they could get rid of Atari without actually having to wait another year ?
The extra stuff still sounds good though. |

i want to play it to... i even have dreams about that game.. call me a freak, a geek, or whatever.. but i DESIRE GTA:SA!!
but i dont got a PS2.. and it isnt confirmed for PC yet, and if it will come it own tbe before MAY 2005.. so we have to wait a year Burgess 
well make it togheter..

yeah ... that's a good one.
What about voicepacks for the Necris as well ?
Or are they going to be forced to use the Alien or Nightmare-voicepacks ? |

Seems like a good idea, just like the previous bonus packs.
