As promised earlier today I have more information on the new contest. Several of you submitted good ideas for the contest. I went through all of them and I picked my favorite one. We are going to have a Q&A session on the History of Unreal. Whoever answers them correctly is going to be put in a drawing for one of three prizes.1st Place: 1 Gig Corsair XMS Memory
2nd Place: Corsair Memory T-shirt
3rd Place: Corsair Memory Mouse Pad and Poster The contest will begin on Wednesday when I release the questions to be answered. I am just waiting on a Unreal celebrity to submit some questions as well. |

Lol, you are so odd....
Yes, memory you can just plug right into the motherboard and if you win and it's already filled I'd replace it with crucial since their's is top notch memory. |

why am i odd?
so like when you plug in some more, it will automaticly change it in the computer, like when you view in some progs or properties of your PC how many meory it has, its auto changed and everything? |

Because you contadict yourself all the time.
And, yes...assuming your motherboard supports the speed of memory you install (which is normally not a prob but I'm covering my ass) |

bty cheetah....
the memory will only work if the bus speed is equal to your mb bus speed
(DDR PC2700 will only work in a mobo that supports PC2700.)
Also another thing to point out is that you CAN mix bus speeds of memory if each type is supported by your mobo.
the only thing is that the memory will automatically throttle itself down to the SLOWEST stick of memory on your PC. therefore 2 sticks of PC3200 DDR, and 1 stick of PC2700 will act like 3 sticks of PC2700.
You still will get the cumulative megabyte memory rating (256 + 256 +512 = 1024 [1gig] ), but the speed will be slower (noticibly slower from what i understand) when running memory intensive programs
oh and its CONTRADICT not what you had

Sorry to be a stickler, but Crucial doesn't make an XMS brand memory, but Corsair does... so is it Crucial memory or Corsair? |
