Wow... in addition to the release of the original Star Wars trilogy on DVDs (which I recommend everyone to go get) there have been a ton of BIG game releases lately. Here's a quick list:
Quote: |
Warhammer 40,000: Dawn Of War - this game looks pretty sweet, but I have a feeling that the graphics wouldn't be too friendly with my current system. I recommend checking out the demo before buying it.
Star Wars: Battlefront - Out for PC and Xbox, this game is SWEET! A friend of mine bought it for his Xbox yesterday when we went to pick up the SW Trilogy, and I sat down and watched as he began playing.. and all I can say is that I'm getting an Xbox with XB-Live pretty soon. Wow. Any good gamer should add this to their collection - multiplayer looks totally awesome, and the single player mode rocks, too. Honestly, this game will BLOW YOUR MIND.
Rome: Total War - hitting stores today is the new Total War game. While I didn't like the last ones so much, I am considering this one once the price comes down. You get to command HUGE legions of soldiers in epic battles... like Lord of the Rings.... but the stuff here actually happened in real life.
Sims 2 - Look, I'll honestly say I'm not a big 'sim' fan. However, as this is a BIG release, including a DVD edition, I figured I'd give everyone a heads up. This game includes genetic, life spans... apparently its a lot more realistic... at least, as realistic as it is to be a god directing a whole city. Whatever. |
There you have it. That's just some of the major releases that have occurred recently. With Half-Life 2 and Tribes: Vengeance looming in the horizon, this fall is going to r0xx0r j00r b0xx0r. |

I picked up SW:Battlefront for the PC last night and it is very fly. I haven't had a lot of time to play it but from my experience it is exactly what I wanted, Star Wars Battlefield 1942. |

That's the point - it's so good it's comparable to being with a good looking woman. Not really - I'd take my Nikki over any game, any day - but it's a figure of speech. Do they not have that where you're from? |

Sims 2 uses (un)Safedisk v3 as its "copy-protection" ... so uninstalling Nero, CloneCD, etc. is required before you're allowed to 'play' this game.
note : for some reason it insist on causing a 'blue screen of death' after 10 or so minutes on my pc. Considering that it nearly succeeded in killing the entire harddisk as well I'd say someone forgot to test this game ... |

Well that would make sense if I owned BF:1942 but alas I don't like realistic shooters so Battlefront suits me better. I am glad that there is a mod out there for owners of BF 1942 but comparing it to a Lucas produced game is like comparing, no offense to anyone, an average map authors work to lets say Cliffy B. This game is very polished thus justifying the price tag. |
