Good morning everyone. I hope your weekend was fun and everyone is happy about all of the cool games that are either already released or going to be released shortly. Even though winter is coming it looks as though we are going to have plenty of games to play. I am looking forward to Tribes 3, Halo 2 and Fable. The one suprise pickup may be Star Wars: Battlefront.
I received my bonus check from work this past weekend and went out shopping and finally picked up myself a DVD writer, a Lite-On 8x DVRW drive. I had read several good reviews on it and even though there are faster ones out there I couldn't beat a Best Buy clearance price of $89. Besides being able to back up almost all of my important files on one DVD, I am able to record TV shows on my computer and not have to worry about them eating up my HD space (I have a 120 Gig HD but I also like to watch Hi Res versions that eat up .5 gigs per show). What I have to ask everyone is what is a good brand of DVR's and RW's to buy? To start off I just picked up a 10 pack of Memorex DVD+R's for $12. |

I was all hooked on playing UT2004 since the ECE was released but then I started watching Star Wars The Clone Wars on Cartoon Network (which is really good but a little too short). Then I got back on the Battlefront. Man everytime I play BF I falll a little bit more in love. There is nothing like attacking rebels side by side with Lord Vader. When the PC demo comes out I would encourage anyone who likes SW to try it out.
I also recently bought a DVDRW mine is a Pioneer 12X from Newegg.com. Good thing to my computer crapped out a couple of weeks later and I would have lost lots of data. |

Hard drives are so cheap, I picked up a Maxtor 250 gig with a PCI card for $149 at Costco. My next upgrade will include a DVD burner. DVD's wil end up being nicer in the long run when the price for the media drops to cdr levels. |
