If you are all crazy about Counter Strike this Gamespot article will be of up most importance to you. While Half Life 2 is still in limbo the team at Valve are providing a convincing reason to purchase HL2 via Steam.

However, with the release date of Half-Life 2 still in limbo, Valve is offering a big incentive with its Steam packages, which will go on sale next week. "Those who purchase via Steam will receive the final version of Counter-Strike: Source immediately," read Newell's posting. This means that while the single-player campaign of Half-Life 2 might not be available for months, the full multiplayer component (which has been available in beta form) will be sparking LAN battles next week. |
The article also goes into the different editions of HL2. Two retail editions will be released. The $79.99 Collector's Edition contains the DVD HL2, HL1: Source, an XL T-shirt, and a Prima guide. While the standard retail version contains 6 CD HL2 and CS:S. Looks like I am going to be changing my order to the "Collector's Edition" since I have spent so little time with the first HL. GG Valve.
Finally they go into detail regarding Steam prices and contents. You can view the full article here. |
